Well, it's finally happening... The garage which opens out to The Retreat lawn is now slowly being converted to a pretty private yoga, meditation and massage studio for The Retreat guests. This is a major undertaking, and will take a while, but great to see it underway, and very exciting. Watch this space...

I thought some of the cat lovers amongst you might like to meet someone who thinks he has every right in the world to visit guests in The Retreat at his leisure. This is Ollie, a very naughty grey-tipped persian with an amputated tail. Ollie has kept many of our guests highly amused with his visits, but rest assured you can chase him away quite easily if you are not a fan of felines... His grey brother Ben tends to stick more to the house, but has also been known to come and say gidday.

Had a lovely couple visiting their family in Hornby recently. They stayed two full weeks, and absolutely loved The Retreat. They left behind a beautiful card with heartfelt message (including the fact they could have taken my cats home to Auzzie with them....), and an awesome sculpture for my garden (pictured). Thanks guys - really appreciate it!

Lincoln Uni recently hosted a nationwide tournament which allowed The Retreat to play host, not only to our lovely guests, (parents of one of the 19-year old players), but also for pre-dinner drinks for the other parents/coaches on a lovely warm summer night. Had to laugh when I was told they all saw the lush lawn outside The Retreat, and every single one of them took off their shoes!!! Must be a Wellington thing.... Lol. :)
